Ireland is no longer just drifting from Christianity. Within a generation, “no religion” has surged from a fringe identity into one of the largest belief groups in the country, while weekly church attendance collapsed and younger, more educated demographics are increasingly disconnected from God.
Most didn’t reject Christianity through serious examination. They abandoned it as a reaction against scandals, institutional failure, cultural Catholicism, or the perception that faith is intellectually or morally outdated..
As a result, countless people now dismiss Christ without ever hearing a clear case for the historical evidence, philosophical depth, scientific achievements or transformative message of genuine Christianity.
Unanswered objections rarely stay neutral: young people are discipled every day by secular assumptions about science, morality, identity, and meaning.
And yet, there is hope: recent signs show renewed openness to faith among Gen Z, alongside growth in several Christian communities, showing spiritual hunger.
If we Christians want the next generation not merely to inherit religion, but to truly know, trust, and follow Jesus, we must be prepared to answer hard questions with truth, clarity, compassion, and confidence. That is Apologetics.
To be a trusted and humble community that engages people to meet JESUS through questions of life and faith.
